Piano lessons are gifts parents can give to help their children do better in school, feel good about themselves, and add a bit of music to the world…

Requirements: Child must know the letters A, B, C, D, E, F and G of  the alphabet and the number 1,2,3,4 and 5. Knowledge of the left hand versus the right hand is helpful.
Payment:     Full semester is due upfront 2 weeks prior to the start of the first class. If you would like your piano delivered to your home earlier for a gift for the child, please note the delivery date on your registration form.

Equipment: For ages 3 to 5, a quality children’s baby grand piano will be picked up from the studio so your child will be able to practice in the comfort of their bedroom, playroom, or room of your choose. Pianos are available in a choice of pink, white, red, or black, and are approximately 20 inches by 20 inches, and weigh approximately 20 pounds. The same pianos will be used for your children’s classes and are located permanently at the studio.  The pianos have two octaves, and will accommodate your child’s piano needs until they are ready for private lessons.  A Prelude to the Classics has special discounted arrangements available for parents with Piano Distributors of Sarasota for purchase, lease, or rental of a full piano. The studio will supply percussion instruments for the children.
Studio facilities
Main studio: for private lessons, has top quality baby grand piano and Clavinova for orchestration.Available for practice while waiting for lessons are three additional pianos.
Kid’s studio: has 8 children’s size baby grand pianos (pink, black, white, and red).   Percussion instruments for rhythm include maracas, bells, finger cymbals, tambourines, and clackers. Children listen to the clavinova piano which plays most instruments and learn about all sounds of the instruments (including trumpet, saxophone, flute, clarinet, steel drums, guitar and more).
Teen Studio: has drums, several guitars (acoustic and electric), bass guitar, piano, all vocal equipment and percussion.

Facilities:  The Child Prodigy Series is held at the new state of the art studio's build specifically for The Child Prodigy Series by Piano Distributors of Sarasota.  This state of the art building includes a large showroom, concert hall, and several studios for the Child Prodigy Series which will house the children's size baby grand pianos in pink, black, red and white, clavinovas, and electric pianos. There is also a percussion area used for rhythm as well as a separate snack area in kids theme décor. Children will also access the main studio which houses a top quality baby grand piano.
Classes are held at the new state of the art studio in the new Piano Distributors new building located on 41 South approximately one mile south of the Stickney Point/41 intersection on the West side of the road. 7606 South Tamiami Trail (route 41)  Sarasota.

Learning to play the piano is a hallmark of many people's childhood.

Snacks: A brief time for snacks will be provided at each class which enable the Director to discuss the children’s progress with the parents. Please list on registration form any allergies i.e. Apples, nuts, etc.

Parent or caregiver/nanny:  One parent/caregiver will sit by younger children ages 3 and 4 in the beginner classes. For children 4 through 7  parents may relax at Piano Distributors new state of the art facility which has snack tables as well as a snack bar and wi fi for computer time in a "coffee bar" type of atmosphere.

Private Lessons:

Miss Marcy will privately approach parents when the timing is right for the child to either move up to private lessons, or begin private lessons in addition to class. For information on the main studio, please visit: www.apreludetotheclassics.com  Private lessons are held at Miss Marcy's studio, A Prelude to the Classics.

Registration forms must be completed with check attached when child attends first session. Due to the overwhelming demand and wait list, there are no refunds available after the first class. Most students continue for several years so spaces are extremely limited and there is very limited availability for new students. Please book early to reserve a spot.
